    Is paid media the same as paid search?

    Paid media is a term used to describe paid advertising across various channels including social media platforms, search engines and online applications. The two main forms of paid media advertising are paid search adverts and display adverts. Paid search ads appear on Google and Bing and are featured more prominently than organic listings, helping businesses to appear high up the search engine rankings for relevant search queries.

    What is a PPC agency?

    PPC is an internet marketing model in which advertisers pay a fee each time an advert of theirs is clicked on – Pay Per Click. These ads are typically placed above the organic search results on a search engine and see the largest amount of user traffic. What we do as an agency is set up and optimise these PPC campaigns for you on the relative search engines to provide optimal results.

    How does PPC bidding work?

    PPC bidding is effectively an auction - you’re bidding on an Ad Rank spot. This is determined by two factors, one being the quality and relevance of your landing page once the ad is clicked (Quality score), and the other is a CPC bid – the highest amount an advertiser is willing to pay each time their advert is clicked on by a customer.

    What is remarketing?

    Remarketing is an effective method of increasing sales and Return On Investment. It allows websites to show targeted ads to people that have already browsed their sites - on the side of a window when reading news sources, for example. This is particularly useful because previous users will be familiar with a website’s layout and reliability and will therefore be more inclined to purchase from them again.

    Is PPC advertising expensive?

    PPC advertising costs are dependent on two things:
    i) How much you’re willing to pay in the bidding stage.
    ii) The industry your business is in, for example, legal or tourism companies are far more competitive and will pay much more than less competitive industries such as consumable or home improvement sectors.
    Remember, you only pay the search engine once your link is clicked on, and if optimised well, once clicked on, that customer will proceed to make a purchase. For instance, let’s say you pay £3 per click and a customer buys a product worth £300 - you've then made a 10,000% return on investment.
